Ash Dahod [Cisco/Starent]: "We have seen a dramatic increase in the deal flow in our sales pipeline."

Boston Globe reporter Hiawatha Bray (picture) interviewed Ash Dahod, former CEO of Starent and now GM of Cisco's mobile Internet technology group.

See "Mobile networking is driving telecom growth" - here.

"The product  that Starent had built [now named CISCO ASR-5000 - here, picture] allowed carriers to understand what is going on in the network at any point in time, and be able to adapt the traffic flow to the dynamic condition of the network. If you take that intelligence and combine it with the rest of the Cisco portfolio of products, it puts us in a very unique position .. Nobody [question was about ALU and NSN] today has the portfolio of products we offer at Cisco. Nobody. We are the only ones who can offer a complete solution, from the radio to the Internet core. That’s one of the reasons we decided to be acquired by Cisco, because we saw this opportunity."
